CCNMA Fundraiser to Feature CSRC Author Agustin Gurza

On Saturday, November 17, the California Chicano News Media Association (CCNMA) will hold a special fundraiser featuring award-winning journalist Agustin Gurza, former Los Angeles Times music critic and Orange County Register columnist, who will discuss his recently released book about UCLA's rare collection of 20th century recordings of Mexican and Mexican American music. Proceeds from the night will support CCNMA's mission to promote diversity in the media by providing encouragement, scholarships, and educational programs for Latino journalists. Guests are invited to mingle with current and former CCNMA board members, including CCNMA president Yvette Cabrera, board members Martin Plascencia of Telemundo and Nicole Santa Cruz of the Los Angeles Times, and former president Luz Villarreal of Dateline NBC. Appetizers will be provided by Avila's El Ranchito Mexican restaurant of Costa Mesa.

Space is limited. Tickets are $100 in advance or $125 at the door. Contact Sylvia Wells at 310-458-8040 or via email at  rsvp@ccnma.org
