"Amalia Mesa-Bains" Wins Gold Medal from ILBAs

Amalia Mesa-Bains: Rituals of Memory, Migration, and Cultural Space earned top honors at the 2025 International Latino Book Awards, which were presented at a ceremony October 25 at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California.
 
The monograph, authored by Tomás Ybarra-Frausto with a foreword by Chon Noriega, earned a gold medal for Best Arts Book. The title previously earned a gold medal from the 2025 Independent Publisher Book Awards in the BIography category.
 
Amalia Mesa-Bains: Rituals of Memory, Migration, and Cultural Space is volume 13 in the A Ver: Revisioning Art History Series from UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center Press. The series is distributed by University of Minnesota Press.
