Faculty Associates

Faculty Associates represent the Institutional FTEs that are allocated to the CSRC but appointed in traditional departments. They excel in their scholarship, administrative service, and community service, and have been pivotal in expanding the Chicano studies curriculum, supporting advanced students conducting research in Chicano studies and other academic disciplines.  In September 2021, the number of Institutional FTEs was increased as part of the UCLA HSI Initiative in order to "build up UCLA’s intellectual community devoted to ... teaching, scholarship and/or mentoring.” Faculty Associates serve on the Faculty Advisory Committee (FAC).
