Latino Policy & Issues Brief

Established in 2002, the Latino Policy & Issues Brief is an occasional four-page report that highlights policy-related research on Latinos in the United States. It is released three to five times a year and sent for free to thousands of legislators, policymakers, community-based organizations, and media outlets in California and around the United States. Over 32.8 million Latinos now reside in the United States, making up 12 percent of the population.

The brief series has already had an impact on national discussions about immigration, voting, labor, and women's issues. Press coverage of the briefs includes interviews on CNN and articles in Time magazine, Variety, and the Los Angeles Times, as well as Reuters, the Associated Press, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, National Public Radio, and Telemundo and Univision Network News (Spanish language television).

You are welcome to view the current issue of the briefs, to digitally access all previous issues published from 2002 to the present, to find guidelines for authors and artists wishing to submit a brief idea for publication as well as information for those interested in subscribing to the series. If you have any questions about the Latino Policy & Issues Brief series not answered here on the website, please email us at the press.

If you are interested in receiving electronic copies of the briefs as soon as they are released, sign up with our electronic mailing list. If you are interested in receiving print copies of the briefs, please email the press with your postal address. We will send them to you as they are published. The electronic issue is usually released two weeks before the print issue reaches subscribers.
