Ersi Arvizu and her band of friends will be featured in a panel discussion on January 20 from 3-5 p.m. and a concert from 8-10 p.m. Arvisu gained prominence as a member of the band El Chicano and for her contributions to the Chicano rock and Latin rock genres.
Fenomenal, Rompeforma 1989-1996, is a documentary about Rompeforma: Marató n de Baile, Performance & Visuales, the experimental Latinx dance and performance festival in Puerto Rico. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, Puerto Rican dance artists/choreographers Merián Soto and Viveca Vázquez.
