Performance and Conversation: Diga Me!
L.A.’s Chicano literary movement is the focus of this event and it will be on Saturday, October 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Fowler Museum at UCLA. Authors Ron Arias, Vibiana Aparicio-Chamberlin, and Alejandro Murguía—who participated in the nation’s first Chicano literary festival, Festival de Flor y Canto, in 1973—will read from their short fiction, followed by performances from actors Matt Ferrucci, Marina Gonzalez Palmier, and Holger Moncada. Michael Sedano, co-founder of the literary blog La Bloga, will then lead a conversation with the authors. The event is co-sponsored by the New Short Fiction Series, a member of the Pasadena Arts Council EMERGE fiscal sponsorship program. This event is free and open to the public.
