Event Date:
Wednesday, October 23, 2024 -
11:00am to 12:30pm
Event Location:
Online via Zoom

Join the Latina Futures 2050 Lab online October 23 for a conversation featuring Latina mobilizers discussing the fight for a multicultural democracy that works for everyone. As we approach the final leg of the 2024 election cycle, you will hear from community leaders at the forefront of grassroots efforts to promote community power through voter education, mobilization and engagement.

Learn more about the strategies organizations are using to drive voter engagement and participation from a Latina lens, with an emphasis on engaging youthful, diverse voters in the Sunbelt. Our panelists will share their insights on how grassroots movements are empowering communities and ensuring that voices historically left out of the political process are heard.

This event is part of a multi-year effort to support policy research, leadership programs, and civic engagement that address inequities that disproportionately impact Latinas, made possible by a one-time budget allocation from the California Legislature and the California Latino Legislative Caucus.

Panelists:

  • Alejandra Gomez, Executive Director, LUCHA
  • Genny Castillo, Executive Director, Southern Economic Advancement Project
  • Gigi Pedraza, Executive Director, Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia)
  • Yadira Sanchez. Executive Director, Poder Latinx
  • Gloria Soto, Executive Director, Future Leaders of America (Moderator)
