Statement on Recent Events at UCLA

The UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center came about, in large part, because of student voices and protests. Given our history, we stand committed to democratic dialogue and students’ ability to practice their First Amendment right on campus safely and without fear of retaliation. We condemn violence against students exercising free speech, and we condemn hate speech. The Chicano Studies Research Center is steadfast in its support of student activism for peace, human rights, and social justice.
