UCLA Hispanic-Serving Research Institution Showcase
Join us as we celebrate our momentous progress toward serving all students with excellence, expanding knowledge systems, and broadening our impact as an emerging federally designated Hispanic-Serving Research Institution (HSRI). Through a series of panels, campus leaders will reflect on our collective progress and explore aspirations for 2025-26 and beyond.
The showcase features speakers and panels covering topics such as the inclusion of student voices and how various units across campus support students’ academic and professional excellence through orientation, advising, faculty recruitment, expanding graduate and professional pathway programs, financial aid and external partnerships. CSRC’s involvement includes a panel with Professor Osvaldo Gutierrez (Chemistry and Biochemistry, inaugural CSRC HSI STEM Faculty Director), Professor Robert Lucero (School of Nursing), Professor Vilma Ortiz (Sociology) moderated by Cesar Oyervides-Cisneros, CSRC Senior Administrator of Campus Initiatives, and closing remarks by Professor Veronica Terriquez, Director of the Chicano Studies Research Center.
