Exploring the periods prior to the contemporary use of the Latinx term, this panel will discuss the important avant-garde contributions of artists working in the 1970s and 1980s. Panelists explore the lives of artists who immigrated to New York for political reasons, to study, or to create for themselves a new artistic life.
