Eduardo de la Cruz will present on traditional medicinal practices by indigenous communities across Mexico. According to de la Cruz, traditional medicine can be understood as a set of systems and processes of attention to good health. It is a set of materials and symbolic artifacts used based on beliefs and practices developed by the wise to combat the various diseases and imbalances perceived to affect the human body. In present day, many men and women can be found developing traditional medicine amongst the Nahua communities of Chicontepec, Veracruz, located in the Huasteca Veracruzana region.
