Book Talk: Coauthors Present ‘Beyond Dreamers: Transitions to Adulthood in an Uncertain Age’
In Beyond Dreamers: Transitions to Adulthood in an Uncertain Age (Russell Sage Foundation, 2026) coauthors Sofya Aptekar and Amy Hsin use a life course perspective to examine experiences of illegality among a diverse group of undocumented young adults in New York City. They analyze the role of the Dreamer image, racialization, and legal systems in shaping lives and opportunities on campus, in the workplace, among family members, in romantic relationships, and in planning for the future.
Please join us for an online event with coauthors Sofya Aptekar and Amy Hsin. Veronica Terriquez, CSRC director, will serve as the discussant.
Cosponsored by the UCLA Center for the Study of International Migration, the UC Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative, the UC San Diego Center for Comparative Immigration Studies, the UC Davis Global Migration Center, and the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center.
