In 2012 the Getty Foundation celebrated the twentieth anniversary of its Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program, designed to diversify staff at museums and visual arts organizations by providing students with opportunities to work at arts-related organizations, as well as a modest stipend. CSRC director Chon A. Noriega is interviewed in the celebratory video, viewable here.

CSRC associate director Marissa K. López published the essay "On Mentoring First Generation and Graduate Students of Color" for the Committee on the Literatures of People of Color blog sponsored by the MLA Commons. In addition, López coauthored with Daniel Heath Justice an introduction to the piece describing the difficulty they had getting the piece accepted for publication in traditional journals.
