CSRC HSI Faculty Affiliates

In 2021, the number of faculty lines campus-wide were increased as part of the UCLA Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Initiative to support the hiring of exceptional faculty whose teaching, mentorship, and research related to Latinx experiences and who can contribute to a culture of inclusive excellence that enables students’ academic and postgraduate success. Faculty recruited through the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center’s faculty recruitment collaborations are designated as CSRC HSI Faculty Affiliates. These faculty members contribute to an environment of inclusive excellence, enabling students to achieve academic success in a variety of academic disciplines.

Recent collaborations have resulted in successful faculty recruitments to a variety of departments, including Chicana/o and Central American studies, civil and environmental engineering, education, English, family medicine, information studies, integrative biology and physiology, political science, psychology, social welfare, and statistics and data science. CSRC HSI Faculty Affiliates serve on the CSRC Faculty Advisory Committee.
