Welcome Reception for UC Regents’ Lecturer Ely Guerra

Award-winning singer-songwriter Ely Guerra has been named a UC Regents’ Lecturer for 2015-16. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Guerra is a composer, lyricist, and musician acclaimed for her artistic activism on behalf of women’s freedom, rights of indigenous people, and environmental issues of communities along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The CSRC, the Institute of American Cultures, and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese are hosting her visit to campus. Join us for a public welcome reception in Guerra’s honor in the West Lobby of Royce Hall.*

*Guerra will not be performing at this event.
