On October 2, over 75 campus leaders, faculty, staff, and students convened to celebrate a successful recruitment year for the UCLA Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Infrastructure Initiative. CSRC Director Veronica Terriquez introduced a historic 13 new faculty members whose teaching, scholarship and/or mentoring has ties to Latinx experiences, and 9 new and returning HSI Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellows, together representing north and south campus.
The Institute of American Cultures (IAC), which houses UCLA's four ethnic studies research centers--the Asian American Studies Center, the American Indian Studies Center, the Bunche Center for African American Studies, and the Chicano Studies Research Center--has released its annual report for the 2022-23 academic year.
This brief focuses on the turnout of Latinx young adult voters, specifically those aged eighteen to thirty-four, in California’s 2022 midterm election.

Over the years, Cindy Montañez’s tireless public service has touched the lives of countless generations of Latinas. Her work traces back to her days as a student at UCLA, where she, alongside her sister Norma Montañez, took part in the historic 1993 Hunger Strikes.
