MARÍA MAGDALENA CAMPOS PONS


    

MARÍA MAGDALENA CAMPOS PONS was born in
Matanzas, Cuba, in 1959 and attended the Higher
Institute of Art (ISA) in Habana. Her installations
juxtapose photography, painting, film/video,
performance, and sculpture to explore a complex
spiritual and cultural background. She has
had solo shows around the world and has been
exhibited in numerous biennales, most recently in
Dakar (2004). In 2007, a midcareer survey opens at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
