MAGDALENA CAMPOS PONS

MARÍA
MAGDALENA CAMPOS PONS was born in
Matanzas, Cuba, in 1959 and attended the Higher
Institute of Art (ISA) in Habana. Her installations
juxtapose photography, painting, film/video,
performance, and sculpture to explore a complex
spiritual and cultural background. She has
had solo shows around the world and has been
exhibited in numerous biennales, most recently in
Dakar (2004). In 2007, a midcareer survey opens at the Indianapolis Museum
of Art.
