UCLA Forum to Reclaim Diversity

Event Date:
Thursday, April 23, 2015 -
3:00pm to 8:00pm
Event Location:
UCLA Pauley Pavilion
This forum is responding to recent racist and sexist incidents at UCLA and their underlying causes. These problems cut across community lines and campus spaces, requiring creative and contextual solutions. This event will give concerned students, staff, faculty, and alumni opportunities to collaborate through workshops in generating meaningful solutions.

Preliminary ideas for breakout session topics include:
An independent bias response system
A diversity accountability group
Student retention caucus meeting
Faculty hiring and mentorship

On this day, we are providing:
A dynamic work space to bring coalition partners and stakeholders together
Opportunities to learn about current campus climate advocacy and policy work (and ways to get involved!)

We hope you can provide:
Necessary feedback of the current conditions impacting your community
Stakeholders organizing in your community (i.e., alumni, staff, faculty, students)
Current ideas and initiatives your community is working on to improve campus climate
Insight on appropriate forum/structure of the conference and day activities
