Talk: Roberto D. Hernández presents "Decolonizing Marxism: Rethinking Indigenous Struggles & Spirituality"

The CSRC welcomes Dr. Roberto D. Hernández, of San Diego State University, who will discuss Chicano-Indigenous struggles. Marxism, being an important source and inspiration for Chicanos and other anti-colonial struggles, has been limited in the lived experiences, epistemologies and spiritualties of Chicano and Indigenous communities. This platica will provide a decolonial perspective to rethink Chicano-Indigenous struggles.

ROBERTO D. HERNANDEZ holds an MA and a PhD in ethnic studies from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at San Diego State University.
