The Chicano Legacy Project: Staged Reading

On April 21 and April 22, About...Productions' Chicano Legacy Project will present a staged reading of a student-written play. The play is drawn from a rich archive of Chicano Legacy plays written by students over the past five years. It is based on student interviews with Chicano leaders including, activists, journalists, film makers educators, etc.. The Staged Reading will be performed by professional actors and volunteering students.

This is a two-part event:
Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.
Friday, April 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.              

This culminating staged reading event represents the work of the first year of a two-year project that provides highest-risk students in East L.A. the opportunity to create and co-produce a full production premiere. The full production premiere, set for the spring of 2017, is the first in the history of About…Productions' Young Theaterworks program.

This event is free and is sponsored by About Productions Theatre Company and the CSRC.
